CC Garden Committee Chairperson, Lorrie Meier, has reflected that “We don’t know whether it’s summer or fall.” She’s right. As I drive up and down the streets of our community, many of the summer flowers are still in bloom as neighbors have festooned their porches with cornstalks, pumpkins, and Chrysanthemums. All the fall colors of reds and golds have competition with the pinks and whites of the summer.

It seems that this year has gone by so fast. We are gearing up for the holiday season and the summer clothes have not yet been put away.

November will be a very busy month. We have daylight savings time ending, a presidential election and Veteran’s Day all in the first two weeks of the month.

As Donna Bilarczk reminded us in last month’s Chatter, winterizing our homes is also a priority. Turning off outdoor spigots, draining hoses, and cleaning out furnace and dryer vents are all important but often forgotten as the cold weather approaches.

Please make sure to fill out the Emergency Snow removal form found on page xx and submit it to the office if you require medical help.

The last part of the month can be hectic too. If you’re hosting family for Thanksgiving, cleaning, meal planning and shopping must be done.

Luckily, we will be traveling to our kid’s house. But I still have to bring the wine, flowers and plan a dessert. I also have to pack up and bring my mother’s dishes.

I also want to remind you that the Veteran’s Club will be assembling their Thanksgiving Gift Baskets at the ClubHouse on the 23rd. And in the midst of all this… if you can, please donate to the Make A Difference Club. Details are on pages 12 and 12 of this issue.

So that brings us to November 28th.

May you all have a lovely and blessed Thanksgiving.
