Fake Toll Payment Texts

🚧 Watch Out for Fake Toll Payment Texts

Some people are getting text messages that say they owe money for using a toll road (like a highway or bridge). These messages may look official—but they’re fake.

Scammers are trying to trick you into clicking a link or paying money.

🚨 How to Tell It’s a Scam

  • You get a text about a toll you didn’t take.
  • The message says you owe money or will get fined.
  • It includes a link or asks you to click or call right away.

âś… What You Should Do

  • Don’t click any links in the message.
  • Delete the message right away.
  • Don’t reply or give out any personal or payment info.
  • If you use toll roads and are unsure, go to the toll agency’s official website or call their customer service.

📝 Want to Report It?

You can report the scam text to the FCC at fcc.gov or by forwarding the message to 7726 (which spells “SPAM”).

Bottom Line:
If you didn’t drive on a toll road, you shouldn’t be getting a bill. Don’t click anything. Stay safe and ask a trusted family member or neighbor if you’re not sure.
