Extended Pool Hours Requiring Pool Water Testing - Volunteers Needed

A decision to extend the operating hours of the pool was approved by the Board. It is a NJ state requirement that pool water be tested every two hours during operating hours. Changing the closing time of the pool to 8 PM (from 6 PM) requires that the pool water be tested at 6 PM, two hours after the last testing is completed by our pool maintenance company lifeguard whose quitting time is 4 PM.

To accomplish this task without incurring additional costs, resident volunteers will be needed to test the pool daily at 6 PM. The present number of Pool Committee members alone is not sufficient to handle this task. And as all Committee members act on behalf of the Board and Community, volunteers will be required to become a member of the Pool Committee. This will potentially protect the volunteers and the Community.

If you are willing to commit to the above, you are required to attend a special meeting of the Pool Committee on April 30th at 10:30 AM. At this meeting, it is the hope that the procedure for testing, for recording, and possible remediation of pool chemicals will be explained, as well as the coordination of Committee testing volunteers.

Sign-up forms to join the Pool Committee will be available at the meeting.
